Sefrou is a small white town rests at the foot of the Middle Atlas Mountains, It is halfway between Fez and Ifrane; approximately 28 kilometers from the spiritual capital of the Kingdom. Sefrou is one of the oldest cities in Morocco.
It has a long and rich history since it has successively housed multiple Jewish and Arab communities and survived the invasion of the Vandals. The name of the city refers to a tribe that has once occupied the area, of the wadi Aggai and of the river of wad el Yhoudi, at the beginning of the Islamic era.
Sefrou is a true garden known for the abundance of cherry farms. Indeed, this town is distinguished by the festival of the cherries (or Moussem of Heb Lemlouk), which takes place at the beginning of June of every year, and since 1920.
