Rabat, still known as the City of Knowledge, is by far the quietest city in Morocco and it is the ideal choice for anyone looking for tranquility and clean air.

 

It is one of the four imperial cities of the country. It is known today as the “Washington” of North Africa, because of its parks, boulevards, monuments, embassies and government buildings. Rabat is also the seat of the royal family.

 

This political and administrative capital of Morocco and unlike Marrakech and Casablanca that attract mass tourism it prefers to develop in serenity.

– Mausoleum of Mohammed V: The magnificent mausoleum of Mohammed V is considered one of the most beautiful burials in the world. It was built on the esplanade of the Hassan Tower, where the Hassan Mosque had to be found.

 

– Hassan tower: the Hassan Tower is, in fact, a never-ending minaret that is not only the largest mosque in the world, but also the largest religious building in the world.

 

– Rabat Archeological Museum: This museum which was opened in 1930 is undoubtedly one of the most beautiful museums of Morocco, and in any case the richest in term of prehistoric and pre-Islamic domains.

 

– St. Peter’s cathedral: the Saint Pierre Cathedral in Rabat is one of the rare Catholic religious buildings in the capital.

 

– Dar El-Makhzen : Dar Al Makhzen of Rabat, is the place where the Moroccan executive power is based. It houses the royal cabinet with the office of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, the Alawite Throne, but also the royal college forming the future King of Morocco.

 

– Chellah : Considered as the most romantic place in the country, the necropolis of Chellah is a place full of mystery, ideal for perambulating. It is located on the ancient Roman city of Sala Colonia, 2 km south-east of the downtown.

 

– Royal Palace : the Royal Palace cannot be visited but you still can take a look through the large esplanades forming the Mechouar. This building dates back to 1864 and was erected on the ruins of the ancient palace.

 

– Villa des arts : Built in 1929, this elegant house with remarkable art deco architecture has become a cultural center in Rabat, where exhibitions, meetings, concerts and conferences are held regularly.

Itinerary:

After your breakfast at your Riad or Hotel before enrolling in our tour that is going to be filled up with allkind of adventure, discover and pleasure. Take a walk around the picturesque Almohad before we head northern to visit the Oudaia Kasbah, a magnificent military edifice that enthralls visitors with its calm and plain beauty, It houses a museum; exhibiting a perfect collection of Moroccan folk Art, and a charming Moorish blue and white café.

 

Feel the Mediterranean atmosphere as you take a meander down the Medina white painted walls and alleys where time appears to have stood still, the medina is rich of traditional souks and it is a center of trade and Moroccan handicrafts that you can browse and explore. Then head to Mellah or the Jewish quarter.

 

After that, go ahead to Hassan Tower a never-ending historical minaret, this building and if the constructions had completed it could have been the 12th century’s largest religious monument in the world. Just In front the Tower there is the Mausoleulm of Moahammed V; one of the most Beautiful of its kind in the world, the mausoleum is crowned with a pyramidal roof in green tiles, it is a showcase of Moroccan craftsmanship.

 

Wind up your visit by the Musée Archeologie, where to trace back the history of Morocco through artifacts found on the archaeological sites of Morocco (Volubilis, luxus, Atlas ..) and the Necropolis of Chellah.
